The Process of Certification Application

We approve certification when the Agency agrees with the training and a Home Study/Home evaluation.

Information Required

California Driver’s License

Livescan/Fingerprints

Livescan clearance is required before proceeding with the approval process.

Marital Status

If currently or previously married, provide marriage certificate or divorce decree.

Additional Requirements to Abide By

We would also require California DMV ID Card and Copy of Social Security Card. Copy of your birth certificate of applicants will be needed and if you are local citizen or not. You can apply for foster parenting.
We would also look into your Department of Justice /Child Abuse Index/FBI Clearances for all adults living in the home of 18 years of age and older, Designated Babysitter, Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508D) before certification and before obtaining Live Scan services and adults that may visit or stay overnight more often.

  • Proof of Liability Insurance

    Provide current liability insurance policy and annual renewals

  • Pools and Jacuzzis

    Pools & Jacuzzis must be fenced or locked according to ILS and Title XXII

  • First Aid and CPR

    Require CPR and First Aid certification from resource parents & babysitter

  • Water Safety Certificate

    Require water safety course. Restrictions will be listed in the initial home study

  • Health Screening

    A current physical exam and TB test must be submitted for all applicants

  • Financial Documentation

    Financial Statement will be estimated for the family’s ability to support

  • References

    Three (3) character references are required from employees & co workers

  • Babysitter Requirements

    Back-up babysitter is required for each resource parent in case of emergencies

Home Compliance Check.

The premises of foster parenting must adhere to Interim Licensing Standards and Title XXII regulations, including toxins and medications are in locked locations, guns and ammunition are stored and locked separately, and fireplaces are screened.
